Now or Never

We envision a future where all voices are honored in creating models for conserving, protecting, and using the last of our wild resources.

Taking a different approach

Great news! We’re thrilled to announce a major milestone in our Making Waves campaign:

NOAA has officially posted the final designation documents for the new Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary!

This exciting development marks a significant step in the Sanctuary designation process. The designation will take effect after a 45-day review period by the Governor of California and Congress, starting from the publication date.

Join us in celebrating this achievement as we continue to make waves for marine conservation!

Ecosystem Preservation

Nature's Negotiators believes that grassroots, localized initiatives are the way to sustainable change. We understand that effective conservation is not achieved through isolated efforts, or as top-down initiatives, but through collaboration of all stakeholders that seeks to identify the ecological and economic needs of an ecosystem and to find solutions that serve those disparate needs. We support grassroots efforts that are already making progress. In addition to fundraising, our social media ambassadors work to elevate messaging around important causes and initiatives.

Conservation Easements

Conservation of natural resources has become increasingly important in today's world, and it is essential that all stakeholders work together to find sustainable solutions. One such solution is the use of Conservation Easements, which can simultaneously preserve tracts of land in perpetuity while providing tax benefits for landowners. By placing their land into an easement, landowners ensure that their property will remain protected from development and other harmful activities well beyond their tenure. We also are working to place purchased land into Conservation Easements held in trust by local Indigenous interests.

Think Tanks

In order to preserve our delicate ecosystems, it is essential to identify the key stakeholders and create think-tanks to develop sustainable solutions. By bringing together a diverse group of individuals with unique perspectives and expertise, we can develop comprehensive strategies that address the complex issues facing our environment. Through this process, we can create sustainable solutions that protect our planet for future generations. It is crucial to prioritize the preservation of our ecosystem, and by working together, we can achieve this goal. We specifically aim to elevate local voices, particularly those of Indigenous groups.

Our Mission

Climate change is a pressing issue that requires immediate action. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer scope of the problem, but there are success stories that show us we can make a difference. By taking action at a local level, we can save one ecosystem at a time and make those changes sustainable.

Ultimately, it is up to us to take responsibility for the future of our planet. By implementing sustainable practices and working together, we can create a better world for ourselves and future generations. It’s time to stop talking about the problem and start implementing solutions.

Identify Root Causes

By conducting research, analyzing data, and collaborating with stakeholders, we can determine the underlying factors that are contributing to species endangerment.

Think Tanks

In order to develop effective sustainable solutions, it is crucial to bring all stakeholders to the table and brainstorm sustainable solutions.

Fundraise for Solutions

To implement proposed solutions and make a meaningful impact on ecosystems, it is crucial to fundraise effectively.

Identify Migration Routes

Identify privately held lands that, if developed, would disrupt wildlife migration routes or otherwise compromise a species or ecosystem.

Fundraise for Conservation Easements

Fundraise to purchase lands and place them into conservation easements, ideally held in Trust by local Indigenous tribal entities.

Support Landowners

Fundraise to support landowners in placing lands into conservation easements and to improve habitats and migration routes they subsequently are preserving.
